Surely, you want to own a timepiece with a Ferrari logo. But what about the quality of the Ferrari watches. It’s a well-known fact that fashion brands often don’t make the best quality watches. Are Ferrari watches cursed with the same fate?

The watch has racing and Ferrari branding all over the body. At first glance, you’ll notice the Ferrari logo sitting on the 3 o’clock marker. The yellow logo contrasts just perfectly with the black honeycomb dial background.

The Citizen Miyota JS15 multifunction caliber powers this chronograph watch. Apart from the 30min/sec chronograph subdial, there are a 24-hour display and a date display. With an average accuracy of ±20 second/month, this watch is very dependable and reliable.

As I said before, this watch’s biggest appeal is the Ferrari-branded dial and the silicone strap. They look very fashionable and trendy — with hints of sportiness sprinkled all over the body.

You’ll see the Ferrari logo curved in multiple places — crown, case-back, and on the strap.

Overall, this is a great sports watch with decent functionality.

Ferrari Race Day Chronograph – 0830077 is another masterpiece from Scuderia Ferrari. This bold watch is also known as ‘166 Inter Corsa.’

166 Inter Corsa pays tribute to the legendary Ferrari 166 Spyder Corsa – one of the greatest Ferraris of all time!

The black chequered-flag and the tire-printed silicone straps are the iconic features of this timepiece.

Scuderia Ferrari used the Seiko’s VK67A caliber as this is a fully-customizable caliber. It’s a multi-functional and a chronograph movement. The tachymeter bezel helps the celebration of racing style and looks.

Ferrari REDREV – 0830614 – Best Budget Option

As you can guess by the name of this watch, Ferrari REDREV is a ‘toned-down’ version of the Ferrari RedRev Evo.  

However, when it comes to styling, RedRev might just be the better option. This watch has a perfect balance between style and minimalism!

Sounds confusing?

The caliber choice is very simple here — it has only three hands to show the hour, minute, and second. So, you’ll miss out on the exciting features like chronograph and other multi-functional features like 24-hour display or a simple date display.

However, the power of the black-and-red color combination keeps the looks very exciting. The Scuderia Ferrari logo stretches out the dial and the strap, reminiscing race care’s speed, and motion.

To keep the price low, Scuderia Ferrari has also used ABS plastic in the case, instead of stainless steel. Even the water resistance is quite poor.

Still, I don’t mind considering the price tag.

Ferrari SPEEDRACER – 0830650

Ferrari Speedracer is another popular name from the Scuderia Ferrari brand. While the RedRevs and 166 inter Corsa is all about funky style, this watch offers a hint of formal looks.

For example, Ferrari Speedracer – 0830650 has grey IP with a matte finish. Then, instead of the silicone straps, Ferrari included a calfskin leather strap.

While the watch follows the same black and red color combination, it certainly looks more matured. It almost feels like the Ferrari SPEEDRACER – 0830650 is designed for a responsible adult, not for a teenager!

These small things create big changes in the overall looks of the watch.

The small baton-style marker also helps to keep the looks very minimal. Overall, it’s a great watch with a high functionality level that you can wear in a formal gathering.

Ferrari Race Day – 0830023

Ferrari Race Day – 0830023 is just a design variant of the 166 Inter Corsa. You can see some interesting similarities between the two watches.

For example, the color pallet is the same, so are the design elements on the watches. You can find some big difference on the dial, though.

Instead of going for the vertical three-window design, this watch has a horizontal three-window display. Also, the date display sits in an angular position — at the 4:30 o’clock marker. While the previous Race Day had it on the 3 o’clock marker.

However, the biggest change is on the dial background. This watch has a matte finish instead of the chequered-flag texture.

Overall, this Ferrari Race Day– 0830023 looks and feels smoother and cleaner. I’m sure some of you will love this one over the other one.

Ferrari SPEEDRACER – 0830683

Didn’t like the previous Speedracer? Well, maybe this variant, Ferrari SPEEDRACER – 0830683, will be of your liking.

As you know, the previous Speedracer was a mixture of funky and formal looks. So, it had some identity crisis!

Ferrari SPEEDRACER – 0830683 is, however, is quite confident. It ditches the leather strap with the silicone strap that goes better with sports watches. Also, the grainy texture on the dial has more character to it.

To balance out this funkiness, the shine of the stainless steel helps a lot.

Personally, I prefer Ferrari SPEEDRACER – 0830683, as it feels to be more complete and focused.

Ferrari SPEEDRACER – 0830647

I know a lot of you prefer the cleanliness of the rick black color over the black and red combination. If that’s the case for you, then Ferrari SPEEDRACER – 0830647 should be the right choice for you.

The pure black sunray dial and the matte black finish on the case give the watch a very bold feel. The black leather helps to promote the same black look.  

All in all, this watch celebrates the color black with subtle hints of red here and there.

Are Scuderia Ferrari Watches Good Quality? Is It A Good Brand?

You might remember that I’ve said that Scuderia Ferrari is a fashion brand — not a dedicated watch brand. A lot of these fashion brands mainly uses third party components to build their watches.

Scuderia Ferrari is NOT an exception here either.

In fact, Ferrari gets a step further. Instead of just sourcing the components from third parties, they just outsource the entire manufacturing responsibilities.

Movado, a watchmaker from Hong Kong, does all the heavy lifting! Meaning, every single Scuderia Ferrari watch is basically a Movado watch.

Now, Movado is not a bad company — a great one, in fact! However, it would’ve been better if Scuderia Ferrari only handled the assembly part themselves.

The good news is that Scuderia Ferrari officially has the rights for that Ferrari logo, and you’ll get authentic products.

What Did We Like About This Brand?

Obviously, the designs are the strongest suit of Scuderia Ferrari. All of their watches are bold, fashionable, and funky.

Especially if you’re a racing fan, you’ll love the watches and their designs.

Also, the choice of materials is on point and suits perfectly with the sporty looks.

Moreover, all of the Ferrari watches have a high level of functionality. Almost all of their watches come with multi-functional features like — date, 24-hour display, and of course, multiple chronograph features.

What Didn’t We Like About This Brand?

Sadly, Scuderia Ferrari watches are known for their reliability and durability. All of their watches are assembled in China. This single notion provokes the question of reliability.

I’ve seen a lot of customers complaining about their watches being non-functional after a year or two.

Also, the quality of the movements is quite poor. For example, most of their watches have movements from Hattori, Miyota, or some unknown Chinese brands.

It’s not that Hattori or Miyota movements are bad. However, the specific movements that they use don’t have a good reputation.

Conclusion

Overall, I have some mixed feelings about Ferrari watches, as you have seen in my Ferrari watch review all along.

If you’re in for the design, you can certainly go ahead and get a Ferrari watch for yourself.

However, if you are looking for a durable watch that would last for a long time, you should find some alternative. Sadly, there are not many good alternatives that offer such racing-oriented watches. Also, NO other watch brand can offer that Ferrari logo.

This is the biggest case for Ferrari watches.

Before I finish, I want to share the three best Ferrari watches, in my opinion.

 Ferrari REDREV EVO – 0830260 certainly gets the top spot. Then comes Ferrari Race Day Chronograph – 0830077 and Ferrari REDREV – 0830614 in the second and third positions, respectively.
